Reviews
Bought these scales 18 months ago. Looked great but soon discovered they were very temperamental when weighing anyone under 7st (e.g my children). In recent weeks they have refused to weigh anyone, either flashing without showing a weight or else displaying an 'Err' message. New batteries (which cost £6) didn't help. Can't find my receipt after 18 months to complain under the guarantee, so have binned the scales and am shopping for a new set. Not Salter this time, possibly not electronic either!
This scale was bought to replace a failed old electronic scale of a different make. We haver already had for some time a Salter 3007 electronic kitchen scale and a small Salter 4708 electronic scale used for letters, both of which we have found very good. The 9007 is used daily, is working well and reproducibly and we also rate this as very good, better than our previous scale.
A first class product that does what it sways on the box and at a VERY good price.
These scales seem fairly accurate (well consistent which is better than some others) however to get the scales to turn on for use you are supposed to give them a 'tap'. however it appears that 'tap' means drop one side of them heavily onto the floor. whilst this works it does worry me that they will break and also causes a lot of noise, you certainly wont be weighing yourself in the morning or evening when there may be people in bed! They do look nice but i think i'll go for the traditional sort next time.
Once you get used to tapping the scales with your foot, they work fine. There is a slight variation in weight readings between a carpeted floor and a tiled one.
